There aren’t any limits within our app/system that would prevent any number of devices you’d want to connect. (Just double check your router/network doesn’t impose any limits)
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @shaun,
Notifications should still be there in the app (under the Settings menu, upper left corner of app). Let us know at the support channels (chat, email, phone) if you’re still having issues and we can troubleshoot your account specifically.

Our team is aware of this issue and we’re working on a fix now. Don’t have a time line of when it might be available (as of right now), but we’re going to get this fixed soon.
May 11, 2021 at 5:21 pm in reply to: V2.5 – Wrong devices displayed when poor connection #7456 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @djwakelee and @scrambler,
You’re both correct. It comes down to a sync/timing issue between the app and cloud. We are pushing a quick fix this afternoon that should reduce the occurrence of this issue in general, and a longer term plan (that’ll include an app update) to show within the app when we’re syncing data (instead of just showing zero’s or the demo account circuit view).
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @akballow,

Emporia SupportEmporia StaffI think the multi CT is a good idea. We might tinker around the shop for an “official” solution, but here is a post from the community that might help if you’d like to make a go of it: https://community.emporiaenergy.com/topic/gen2-and-2-200-amp-panels/#post-6583
As far as multiple CT’s showing up as a single line item in the App, this will be added in a future release that will allow you to combine/nest multiple CT’s into a single “circuit” within the App (NOTE: this is for a normal CT installation, not related to “splitting” the CT mentioned above). Probably early summer for this update.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffI like these suggestions @msturtz, but unfortunately we don’t have any of the mentioned hardware suggestions on the roadmap. We’ve discussed higher load switches and plugs, but if it happens, it won’t be for a while (focused on the launch of the EV charger this summer, battery systems later in the year and making sure our existing product line is stable and scalable).
We’re continuously working on load management settings and features from within the App. This summer should provide some great insight into the direction we’re heading with this functionality. Big announcements coming.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffWhat’s annoying is the Graph page only shows the Net — with blue for net-use, and green for net-produce. It doesn’t show them separately.
This should be fixed with the future update that will clarify these numbers. Keep a look out early this summer for a much better look to the graph (I’ll post some previews if/when I can).
Emporia SupportEmporia Staff@charlieseabird7-com, you are right about better documentation around supported systems (vs not). I’ve passed on this feedback to the team for better clarification around this issue and we’ll make sure that Delta and Wye systems are clearly specified as being unsupported.
The wye issue specifically (surrounding ampere/watt readings) can’t be solved with software or App settings. There are fundamental differences that the current hardware in the Vue device cannot overcome to display these measurements correctly.
We’ll be releasing an update to the App in the future that will allow for a change of voltage to accurately reflect in ampere readings (as now it only considers 120v when calculating amps).
April 28, 2021 at 4:34 pm in reply to: Advice on how to install Emporia Vue 2 in new panel? #7388 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffAwesome @slowride55. It is very much a fun feeling to watch those numbers change in real time. Hopefully you enjoy the product!
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @mostlyfreeideas,
I’m glad it eventually worked out. We’ve recently discovered this issue occurs because of a timing difference between when a Smart Plug “thinks” its connected and when the cloud actually registers that connection. We’ve deployed a hotfix to help relieve this issue in the short term (for most occurrences of this problem) and are investigating a more long term fix.
The easiest solution for customers at the moment who are facing this problem is to give it a few minutes (1-5) for the timing issue to resolve and try to reconnect.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffAwesome. I’ll take some time to digest, but I love it. Thanks!!! (now I just need to find myself a linux box to leave “hanging around”)
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffYup @msturtz, this is a high priority for the team at Emporia. Aiming for an early summer release on the App for this functionality. We’ll be notifying the community once we have a better idea of timeline.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @msturtz,
Just a couple points of clarification:
Related to the position of the 200A CT, you can have the CT placed between the tap and the main breaker, but this will measure any solar generation as a consumption reading as part of your NET. If you’re monitoring your solar separately (which it sounds like that’s the plan), you’ll be able to collect those numbers, but the App still needs some functionality to be added for these numbers to aggregate correctly. We’re actively working on features that allow for more customization of circuit monitoring, as well as better clarification/separation of generation vs. consumption numbers.
So, currently, the best way for your use case to display accurately within the App would be to relocate your 200A CT’s above the tap. This will provide the NET (generation and consumption) as well as a specific reading from your 50A CT (on the solar) to get your exact generation. Again, the development team is working on App features to aggregate these numbers on the user interface and to separate consumption and generation.
One additional note, if you want the full measurement of your solar generation, you’d need one 50A CT on each line. If you need the extra CT sensor to monitor another circuit, make sure to add a circuit multiplier of ~2.0 to your solar monitor (within the App).
When installing your Vue for solar, make sure your solar generation is turned off while setting it up. Its also probably a good idea to have a decent consumption load running, that way the Vue has a baseline on setup that helps it recognize the solar generation when its running.
If you have any questions or ideas, definitely reach out to the support team.
